New BitNinja Agent Release 3.17.7: Improved Malware Detection and Custom CAPTCHA Configuration

BitNinja Linux Agent 3.17.7 updates malware cleanup workflows, consults the cloud for known malware before creating signatures, and adds custom CAPTCHA site and secret key configuration. The release also removes deprecated options and migration logic, while increasing system shutdown timeouts and stabilizing WAF3 stop behavior. It was released on October 8 and is available through the FREQUENT and BETA update channels.

MalwareDetection

The yara-clean workflow in the agent and CloudScan now supports rules that define cleanup boundaries with start_pattern and end_pattern when main_pattern is unavailable. This allows cleanup rules to use the available boundary patterns in those cases.

Before creating signatures, BitNinja now consults the cloud for known malware. This helps the system check for existing cloud knowledge before generating new signatures.

SenseLog

BitNinja removes deprecated SenseLog configuration options, keeping the configuration aligned with currently supported settings.

CaptchaHttp

CaptchaHttp now supports custom CAPTCHA site and secret key configuration. This gives administrators configuration options for their CAPTCHA setup.

System

The deprecated DosDetection migration has been removed. The release also increases system shutdown timeouts and stabilizes WAF3 stop behavior, supporting more consistent service shutdown handling.
