New BitNinja Agent Release 3.17.5: Improved Policier Health Checks and Malware Detection

BitNinja Linux Agent 3.17.5 refines Policier service management and health checks, including runtime probes that verify eBPF functionality in containerized environments. The release also improves MalwareDetection API handling and addresses WAF Pro integration issues. It is available through the FREQUENT and BETA update channels.

Policier Service Management and Health Checks

This release refines Policier service management and health checks. It introduces runtime probes that verify whether the eBPF subsystem is functioning as expected, helping address cases where BitNinja runs in containerized environments.

MalwareDetection Improvements

MalwareDetection now uses a refactored LoadApi component to improve API host resolution. Error handling also uses a new method for API and sync fallback errors, supporting consistent failure tracking and file cleanup.

The FileHashUploader has also been refactored to improve hash upload handling.

WAF Pro Integration

This release fixes issues affecting the integration between the WAF Pro Transparent Proxy and CSF.

BitNinja Policier 1.0.2 disables automatic restarts for the bitninja-policier service.
